BlockTheCalls for Android — End User License Agreement

For counsel — not a live product. This page is published so our attorney can review the current draft. We are not accepting customers or payment.

Effective: August 10, 2026

In plain English. This is the licence for the BlockTheCalls Android app. You get to use the app, you don’t own it, and you can’t copy or resell it. Your agreement is with us — DCJP, LLC — not with Google. The app needs some sensitive phone permissions to screen calls; we explain each one and you can revoke any of them. The app does not do 911.

This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) is between you and DCJP, LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“DCJP,” “BlockTheCalls,” “we,” “us,” “our”), and governs your use of the BlockTheCalls application for Android (the “App”).

The App is one way to use the BlockTheCalls service. Your use of the service itself is governed by our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Recording & Consent Notice, and Data Retention & Deletion Policy, each incorporated here by reference. If this EULA conflicts with the Terms of Service as to the App, this EULA controls for the App only.

1. Your agreement is with us, not Google

This EULA is between you and DCJP, LLC only. Google LLC is not a party, and DCJP — not Google — is solely responsible for the App, its content, and any support for it. Your download and use of the App is additionally subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. If you obtained the App from a different store or by sideloading, that distributor’s terms apply to the distribution, and this EULA still governs your use.

2. Licence

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to install and use the App on Android devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, consistent with the Terms of Service.

You may not: copy the App except as permitted by this licence; reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble it except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by applicable law; rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense it; modify or create derivative works; remove any proprietary notice; or use it to build a competing product.

The App is licensed, not sold. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.

3. What the app does — and does not do

  • The App screens inbound calls that you forward to BlockTheCalls, shows you screening results and voicemail, and lets you manage your account and blocked/allowed numbers.
  • The App does not provide, route, carry, or support 911 or any other emergency calling, and places no outbound calls. All emergency and outbound calling continues through your device’s normal dialer and your own carrier. Do not rely on the App for emergency communications.
  • Screening is automated and imperfect: it may block a call you wanted or pass one you did not. See Terms of Service Sections 7 and 10.

4. Permissions — what we ask for and why

Android treats several of these as sensitive or restricted permissions. We request only what the App needs, we show you a prominent in-app disclosure and ask for your consent before requesting them, and you can revoke any of them in Android Settings → Apps → BlockTheCalls → Permissions. Revoking a permission may disable the feature that depends on it.

PermissionWhy we need it
Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO)So you can talk on a screened call that is connected to you. The App carries the call itself, so it needs the microphone for the same reason your phone dialer does
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS)To alert you to screened calls, voicemail, security events, and — on a supervised line — changes to protection status that the account owner needs to know about.
Manage your own calls (MANAGE_OWN_CALLS)So a screened call appears and behaves like a normal incoming call on your phone
Run in the background during a call (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MICROPHONE)To keep a call connected while you use other apps

That is all we ask for. We do not request access to your contacts, your call log, your location, your photos, or any other data on your device.

We do not use the Android AccessibilityService API. Google Play prohibits using the Accessibility API for remote call-audio recording, and the App does not rely on it.

5. Updates

We may provide updates, which may be installed automatically depending on your device settings. Updates are covered by this EULA unless they come with their own terms. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features; material changes are handled under Terms of Service Section 16.

6. Warranty and liability

The App is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE,” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Our liability is limited as set out in Terms of Service Sections 10 and 11 — including the cap at the greater of the fees you paid in the prior 12 months or US $100. Nothing in this EULA limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

7. Your obligations

You agree to use the App in compliance with all applicable law, including recording-consent, wiretap, telemarketing, and privacy law, and with the acceptable-use rules in Terms of Service Section 8. You are responsible for ensuring your use of any recording feature is lawful in every jurisdiction connected to your calls — see Recording & Consent Notice Section 6.

You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

8. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, the Recording & Consent Notice, and the Data Retention & Deletion Policy. Our Google Play Data Safety disclosures reflect the same practices.

Account deletion. You can delete your account and the data associated with it from account settings in the App, or by request at https://blockthecalls.com/legal/data-retention/, which is reachable without installing the App. See the Data Retention & Deletion Policy.

9. Third-party terms

You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the App — for example your wireless data service agreement, whose terms apply to your use of the App over a mobile network.

10. Term and termination

This EULA is effective until terminated by you or by us. Your rights end automatically if you fail to comply with any of its terms. On termination you must stop using the App and uninstall it. Sections 6 through 9, and 11 through 12, survive.

11. Governing law

This EULA is governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and is subject to the dispute-resolution, arbitration, and class-action waiver provisions in Terms of Service Section 15 — including your right to opt out of arbitration within 30 days.

12. Entire agreement and contact

This EULA, together with the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Recording & Consent Notice, and Data Retention & Deletion Policy, is the entire agreement between you and DCJP regarding the App. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
